Like so many weddings in the last two years, this one turned into an elopement. But if I’m honest, there’s no place I love shooting elopements more than the Oregon Coast. Having your elopement in Ecola State Park gives you so many options for where to hold the ceremony, and even more places to take photos. It’s also close to many other great locations for photos, like Hug Point!
Who: Amy & Eric
What: Ecola Elopement
When: October 1, 2021
Where: Ecola State Park
Why: When life gives you a pandemic, elope on the Oregon coast.
Amy & Eric are two of the most gentle and kind people I’ve come to know, the kind of people that just make you feel heard and seen. They met like many people do these days, on a dating app. They’ve moved all over together, and finally found themselves in the PNW with their two pups.
Their original plans of having a small wedding in the Gorge came to a halt with covid, so we pivoted and headed to the coast for an elopement. Since it was just a few of us, we got to have a quick ceremony and then spent a few hours getting photos in the park and over at Hug Point! We witnessed some of the most magical lighting I’ve ever seen in Ecola; I still daydream about it regularly if I’m honest.
If you’re interested in setting up an elopement in Ecola State Park or on the Oregon Coast, holler at me here! And be sure to check the tides before heading to the beach.
